    Pause screen

This is something that has annoyed me for a long time now.

I want to hit the PAUSE button, freeze the gameplay and then get a pause screen where you can check status, change options, save and quit and so on.
The best would be a secondary frame.

I've tried both sub-application and save and restore frame postion ( or whatever it's called ) Can someone help me?

To use something like a game menu as you suggested, all movements and all events will have to be turned off, make everything with a movement to have a second movement which is static and put all the non-game menu events into a big group called game, when game menu comes up change all movements to static and disable group of events called game, that might just do it, unsure of it but worth a try.

What type of game menu are you trying to do exactly? Commander Keen style or Doom Style?

Dragonguy has it right. Create a group called game and group called pause and flip-flop their on/off states each time the button is hit.

I don't know the differance. But let's say I'm making RPG then like final fantasy, that's a good exsample.

You press Pause and you come to a screen with status, skills, current items and magic. Or maybe like Metroid where a map and current power ups are displayed.

Maybe if I ask like this: How can save and resume a frame?

Groups can of course be done, but I was hopeing for a more simple way.

    Re: Pause screen

I used to go with the method described above, but it's a lot of work to get absolutely everything turned off and then turned back on again in the same state it was before, especially if you use a mix of custom and built-in movements.

I use a sub-app for this, pointing to a different frame of the application. However, if you haven't done it before it's quite difficult to get it working because of the ton of options on offer in the object - I described the style you need here.

    Re: Pause screen

Isn't it possible to share Global OBJECTS's values to the Sub-application? That's a big problem for me-
