    Mac vs. PC

I have built a game on a PC and it doesn't seem to play on a Mac. Is there any way to get it to play on a Mac?

or you can try WINE if it doesn't use any directX stuff although it might be unstable.

    Hi Dragonguy,

Thanks! How exactly do you use Java Runtime to get it to work? I don't know much about games at all.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. What is WINE and how exactly would you use it to play the game?

    Hi Kathleen.
The Java runtime is currently in beta (however nearly finished). To use Java runtime you need to download the latest BETA version of MMF2, found here: http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=97808#Post97808

WINE is a simulation program that tries to work with the Windows (NT) layer. I've never used WINE though as I do not have Linux.

    Hi Coco,

Thanks! I had seen a window pop up asking if I wanted to upgrade to the latest MMF2, but I hadn't done it. Are there any problems with it working with Vista, do you know? I'm a little afraid to try it as I'm in the middle of a new game.

Are you saying I would need to get the latest version of MMF2 and then do something with the game in Java runtime? What would I do with Java runtime, exactly?

    Re: Mac vs. PC

    Hi!
I don't know any issues with Vista on the latest version (I guess not) as I do not have Windows Vista, but if you just save a backup of your game, you will be fine if there is an issue.

When you've downloaded the latest version, you can go to the application propeties and change the "Build Type" to Java runtime. Note that builded Java applications are only available on MMF2 Developer, while you can build Java applets for the Internet Browser with MMF2 Standard (and TGF2 I think).

    Greetings
    Coco

    Re: Mac vs. PC

WHAT! You can only create java applications on Developer, there's another reason to upgrade, I assumed you could build Java Applications on any of the F2 Series, I thought that's entirely what Java Runtime was for.

I naturally assumed i'd never need Developer, because all of Developer specific extensions aren't really for gaming purposes and my only interest in using Fusion or Factory is making games(2D or otherwise).

You could always make Java applications that can run in the web browser though.
