Your musical instrumental digital interface file will only play on MMF2 if it is in the following file types:

    .mid
    .rmi

Then again it could be something to do with your volume options.

(sigh) stupid things always go wronge
    I fixed it.
I opened Volume Control and MIDI was all the way down.
I dont understand why tho, the Windows media player played it fine but TGF lowers it to 0

Re: Please Help! MIDI file wont play

Go into the specific level you want it to play on and then go in event editor and put in these events.

    Start of Frame
    -Play Music

Ok after doing that a menu will pop-up containing all the musics that are inside your game, click from a file and find the specific music you want and then click ok, right this music is now to be played at the start of that level in your game when you run it.

    Other things to know:

Once you select a music to play it will added to your .mfa as a part of it, just like any other peice of data inside it such as sounds, graphics, events, levels.

To remove a music from within your .mfa you have remove all of the events that tell it to play from all your different levels.

Oh I just posted and I hadn't realised you already fixed it, lol, I sometimes have trouble with my volume settings.

On some PC (like mine), the MIDI sequencer is not installed. Have you tried to play it with the DirectShow object?

No, other way around bud. Windows Media Player lowers it to 0. (Either that or TGF does after windows media player has been playing midis) It's a pain.
