    [Request] Adding Artificial Intelligence

    Okay,
I'm Making A Game Where You Control A Character In The Frame. You Are Supposed To Fight A CPU. Thats Where I'm Stuck. How Can I Make The CPU Follow Me And Then According To My Position Attack With Multiple attacks and movements.

The Only Solution I Could Come Up With Is To Make Thousands Of Path Movements And Make Thousands Of Situations. But Since I Need To Re-create The Same Movements A Thousand Times It Would Take Me Decades To Do That.
    Please Help!

Making A.I. is the single hardest thing ever to do in making any game, especailly Stratedgy games.

Do not use Path Movement for A.I. instead create a flowchart of what you want it to do and build that in.

Instead of talking nonsense that has no use to the case whatsoever, let me try to help a bit. What kind of a game are you making? a top-down shooter? If so, I'd recommend first playing a bit with groups. You can create them by right-clicking on an empty event, and choosing "Create group".

You can check the "active when frame starts" box away, so the enemies won't be attacking you at the start. Name this group "Enemy AI" or something similiar. Now when the enemy players are near you and if you want to simply tell them to attack when they are close, use the Advanced Direction Object to calculate the distance between your character and the enemy (less than 300 pixels, for example.)

And when that is met, activate the group you made. In that group, you should have events that tell the enemy to charge to the player and attack (if they have bouncing ball movement, you could just "always - look at player" to make them follow you).

If that's not what you wanted or can't figure it out, I'll make you an example. Just tell exactly what kind of a game you are creating and what do you want the enemies to do.

actually, making a flowchart is probably the first thing you want to do before programming AI, as long as the AI isn't horrendously complex

It's not like your making a strategy game, because in that case your A.I. would have to be horrendously complex.

Yes, making a flowchart might be good, but... I doubt he would have got his AI made by that information? If you don't know what you are doing, it is no help.

    Ravenius,
Have You Heard Of Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Beacuse That's The Type Of Game I'm Making.

It's quite simple. You Control A Character, your character must attack a CPU. Every Time You Attack A CPU A Percentage Number Gets Higher, As The Number Gets Higher The CPU Gets Hit Higher In The Air, Until It Flys Of The Screen.

I Need The CPU To Attack Me In The Same Way I Attack It.

This Is An Example Of My Friend's Finished Game.
