    Request for custom camera engine?

For some reason making a custom camera engine is really complicated among other things for me -.- Each frame of my game (very few frames) is rather huge, so its like an explore the world concept, and using the "set scrolling to 0,0 of object" will not suffice for this at all. What i'm looking for is kindof like Zeb's camera, but without so much lag, I've tried making my own using events relative to those in zeb, but the results weren't as grand as I expected. I hope this isn't too much to ask for, and unfortunately the most I could do is put your requested name in credits/special thanks. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not all of us have played 'Zeb'.

How exactly does the camera act?

Re: Request for custom camera engine?

Sry, I've just heard references of zeb on here so I figured most knew, it is really old though so my bad.

Basically I want the X scrolling to follow the player in the middle of the screen (simple) but the Y I don't want to follow my character until they have almost reached the top of the screen, other wise when you jump the camera will follow you and the scrolling will be all over the place. And maybe when you hold up for a couple seconds the camera will move up a little to show you whats above. That's about it though, a lot easier said than done :P

Cool, man I appreciate it, but one more thing. Is there any chance that when the camera follows you on Y it can move to the player rather than instantly jump to it? I'm trying to figure it out myself, but I don't entirely understand what u wrote..

sure; change the 'always'- 'center y position' (in the second condition(number 4)) from:

    Global Value A-Alterable Value A( "Kung-fu guy" )

    To

    ((Global Value A-Alterable Value A( "Kung-fu guy" ))+((Y Top Frame+240)*9))*0.1
