    Particle engine using HWA

First, if this is in the wrong section please move it to where it belong. Thanks.

I just thought I'd show my particle engine I've been working on for a week or something. Crazy loads of active objected needed but darn, it looks AND runs great. Thanks so much for the addition of HWA Clickteam!

This engine is INI based so you can easily create new type of effects by just editing the already existing files. Still got much work to do and lots of things will change until the final version so I won't tell you what all the INI items mean or what they do, but you might be able to figure out some stuff yourselves.

Oh and sorry guys but I probably won't share the source. I've worked like crazy on this and while it's not THAT complicated, I proud of what I've done and want to save it for a future project of mine. One day I might release it but someone else will probably make something better before then.

    Re: Particle engine using HWA

There's more to a particle system than just stacking up thousands of actives and making a really huge glow in the middle, at least that's what I saw.

Part of the work is also getting a decent texture. See the fire one if you don't know what I'm talking about. That one could work. The motion is right, but the sprite is terrible.

I think you have too many actives, the glowing is blasting out the details.

Thanks for the criticism! Currently I only have two different sprites but that will change and the fire effect will certainly get a new one. But the glow effects is just what I'm looking for. I need something over-the-top you know?

There's indeed more to a particle system but not for this one. Explosions and weapon effects is all I'm gonna use it for.

They look great, you should consider making an open version to share with the community.

this is quite nice... I understand that you want to reserve your hard work for your own projects... I tend towards being possessive of my work as well.
