using binary data at data elements

Hi, how can I use the binary data in data elements? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but could it be used to store, for example, a swf file that I'll load using the activeX object, extract it at runtime, load it and then, when finishing the application, delete it from the disk?

If so, how can I do this? Could it be with the "Extract binary file"/"Release binary file" from special conditions?

    Thank you!

yes, extract a data element using 'Extract binary file' then retrieve the new path by 'Extracted binary file path'.

To import a new binary file, go to data elements in the 'View' menu.

    Good luck

Re: using binary data at data elements

Well, can you give me more details?

    1. To import a binary file I just need to select it at data elements, right?

    2. To extract the file, MMF asks for "binary file pathname". What I pass here? The full path+filename shown at the data elements window or just the filename?

    3. After calling "extract binary file", how do I know the operation is finished? Do I need to use the file object's "name is file" with the "binary file temporary filename"?

    4. How do I use this "binary file temporary filename"? It asks me for a string: is it the filename? the full path+filename I find at data elements window?

    Thank you!

    1. Right

    2. Right

    3. I pretty sure it's a hooked operation (as in slight program pause and it's done)

    4. Right

    Thank you!
