Re: Mode7EX sprite mapping of active objects help

Thanks again xyzzy! Ok, well that doesn't sound too bad then! It's a bit of a work-around, and my final game idea is already much too ambitious as it is! But at least it WILL be possible then... so long as this custom animation doesn't cause other glitches O.o''' I'll try this out when I get home

I've strained my brain to think of what other work-arounds that could potentially fix this very strange glitch. I'm thinking if MMF can indeed scale sprites properly, maybe I should store the result of the scaling code and then set the object's scale to that value? I'll try a few things.

    And I should contact Cellosoft...

Re: Mode7EX sprite mapping of active objects help

    Hey xyzzy!

Long time no talk! Unfortunately this project doesn't seem to be giving me any end to the grief...

I pretty much ripped your animation engine as it is into my game. I just changed the size of the mario sprites to match my regular image, and changed the alterable values from A and B to C and D.

AGAIN, even implementing this custom animation engine seems to have psychotic scaling issues. Perhaps there's something wrong with the old scaling formulas I was using for the active pictures. I've tried replacing the Original width and original height with alterable value's in case that was affecting it, but no luck.

I also checked the formatting of the images. I was worried Gimp was doing something weird so I opened and re-saved from Windows Paint. Basically, I think the scaling glitches when switching the image... this is really a nightmare

I'll post it up tonight, again. I really hope we can get this working eventually...
