lifes

i am trying to figure out lifes
i got teh instant kills on contact down i just need it to have like 3 lifes and get hit 3 times then disappear
when i click set lifes i put a number in and then i click he gets hit by whatever and then he loses a life were i put how many he loses it is red and later on when he is suppose to die when he hits 0 lifes it is red to am i doing somthing wrong

This is how I'd do it.

"enemy" collides with bullet >>> Add 1 to Alterable value A

Alterable value A of "enemy" >= 3 >>> destroy enemy

how do i use that do i put it in the exprestion thing or somthing i don't know =(?

ok i tryed it at teh spot for the alterable and the experstion and neither work
the arrow just goes through the enemy and does not do anything

i need to know how to hit teh enemy and do 1 outta 3 lifes to him
is there a way other then alterables and or is there a guide or TUT on how to do alterables i would greatly appreciate ur help
