Hi there, I was digging out some of my old creations to update them in MMF2 Dev but all I could find where the applications that were built and protected. Is there anyway to unlock these protected .gam files???
Any help is much appreciated.

Unfortunately if they are protected then you cannot unlock them.

but I was sure I remember a couple of years ago on this forum that there was a tool that would allow you to unlock the file again.
Is this not arround anymore or would there be a memory address that I could physcially change in the file to make it useable again?? I'm really desperate!
Clickteam could do this before. I can't remember why they can't anymore, but I think it is like you said, they lost the tool.
do you know anyone here that may have the tool?? its just a bit rubbish that my old games cannot be read. i had a good engine too, just wanted to update it!
No one has the tool. It was lost in a hard-drive failure as far as I can remember. Pretty sure they learned their lesson on that and now keep backups of everything important :P
The tool was internal to CT, not available to anyone else.
Sorry
Jason
Files are protected for a reason: to prevent reverse engineering, you should never ever dispose of your old .gam's .cca's .mfa's unless your upgrading them, like transforming a .gam into a .mfa.
Hmmm... I'm having the same problem. I have an old game I wrote. It is a cca file. When I try to open it in MMF, it says it is protected.
If I install Click n' Create on a Windows 7 or Vista computer, would I be able to unlock it? I don't have the original password.
Thanks.
