    DISABLE KEY FUNCTIONS?

I am currently working on a full screen browser. The idea of this browser is to provide a safe environment for children while on the computer. My question is is there a way to disable ALT+F4 and ALT+TAB while the program is running. I want to make it so it can only be closed via a password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Re: DISABLE KEY FUNCTIONS?

Any program can always be terminated using the process viewer.
Anyways you can disable alt+f4 inside the application menu by removing the function, and adding a "special -> Application Menu -> Close Window has been selected" somewhere will disable any obvious ways of closing it.
This way, you can only close it by terminating the process, or using the end frame action.

    Re: DISABLE KEY FUNCTIONS?

A few years back I created a browser for kiosks. To prevent it from being closed I created a secondary application that would check for the browser to be running. If it wasn't, it would start it up. The browser would also look for the watchdog and if the watchdog wasn't there, it would start it up.

On exit, a password screen would be presented. If the password succeeded, then both applications would be terminated. It was very effective at ensuring that would be intruders would be kept in check.

If you don't have MMF2 Developer, you can forget about Process Viewer Object. As an alternative, you could download FusionUpdater, and install Instance Communicator. You can use it to communicate between applications through a "hash", and check if they've been closed etc.

Application - Properties - Window - Menu Edit - Delete the line ALT F4.

Peter: when you start the application it will work but if it loses focus and regains it, then ALT+F4 will be functional again.

    Re: DISABLE KEY FUNCTIONS?

I think you can block key combinations with Control X...

Not looked into it fully but I am 90% I have seen this done before. Would test it for you but I am currently using Mac OSX so here's the link for the extension, give it a try. http://ext.neatwares.ath.cx/ext/Control_X
