Hi, is it possible to detect when an usb drive is plugged on the computer? Is it possible to disconnect it? Any object that can do this job?

    Re: detect usb drives

You could detect usb drives by polling all the drives A to Z using the kernel object. any drive that is type 2 is a usb stick.

There are a lot of ways to disable external drives in XP

    in the policy editor (gpedit.msc)
Disable the disk managers and HW protection in the services (services.msc)
    Or
You will probably want to modify the registry
