    multiplayer help

i was testing mooclick. i dunno the basics of it. is there a tutorial for just the basic movements being sent. Like being able to move a player and sending it through mooclick so all the players can see it.(that will be enough for me).

.. and how to make a scroll in multiplayer?

    On the tutorials page ---------------------------->

You can find some MOO information.

Hopefully your very comfortable with MMF as your enterting the most complex part of using the product.

Use MooGame instead, it doe's all the movement & animation for you complete with dead reckoning.

All you have to do is to have two objects, "Player1" & "Player2"

And as for events it's almost as simple as.

    If host?
    Send Object "Player1"
    Recieve Object "Player2"

    If not host?
    Send Object "Player2"
    Recieve Object "Player1"

There is a simple chat tutorial on the tutorials page(scroll all the way to the bottom). It is a very good tutorial and showed me everything I needed to know to use Mooclick.

This probably won't even work because of the lack of UDP support in the MMF2 Moo extensions, and it will be sending a lot of unnecessary data such as alterable values when all you need to send is the coordinates.

Yeah, look into OINC. It has its own forum (if you can find it ).

I'm like a kid in a candy store with there finally being a new network object... although my hype is a bit dampened by the crashy record of past extensions... but I'm an optimist. ^_^

Only reason I haven't tried OINC is because I've been on the brink of releasing a big project for months, and I need to get that out the door before I code anything else.

You should still do the chat tutorial because sending players movement, positions etc is the same as chat. The only difference is how you interpret the information when it is received.

That tutorial, although it creates a chat app, will explain all the basics of using MooClick including using different sub-channels for different information. Once you've done the tutorial you'll have most of the information you need. I'd recommend doing all 4 part of the tutorial. Then when you know what you're doing it's a simple matter of specifying which sub-channel you'll use for movement updates and sending position data on that sub-channel.
Give all other players an other player object and store their mooClick id in an alterable value, and check that when you receive a movement update on the specified sub-channel so that you move the correct one.
