Re: Little BIG Planet Chain effect

No release date at the moment. I've gotten quite a lot done the last few days though. Based on Actions/Conditions/Expressions finished I have done about 60%. But most of the time has gone to planning, creating the core structures/functions and modifying the Box2D engine to work well with MMF. So a release shouldn't be too far away.

The main problem has been implementing the new interface that allows you to modify/create bodies by referring to the Active Objects attached to them. It allows instant creation of bodies for all objects in a single event. This combined with all the features of Box2D has lead to quite a lot of code. At the moment it has 13 Conditions, 259 Actions and 123 Expressions.

This might have been a little off topic though... Sorry about that.

Werbad, what advantages will the new physics extension offer?

    Easier to use interface.
    7 different Joint types.
Continuous Collision Detection. (prevents high speed bodies from going through each other)
    Ray casting.
    Overall greatly improved physics.
And probably some more stuff I can't remember at the moment.

Yeah, I love Little Big Planet. While I was waiting for it, I almost wanted to recreate it using MMF2 ...almost.

All you really need to do is get the source code to Physics Draw, and add controllable characters to it. Heh, "all".

But if you think about it, PhysicsDraw is a great start towards a LittleBigPlanet-like game.

This would be a huge improvement (with the debugger you spoke of). Reference is a problem in Phyzics. But, as I said, it is very good in this first version.
