    Fonts are imported in BUILD

Using R248 build - the fonts used in my program didn't get placed in the program. When it was used on a computer without the font already installed it defaulted to another font. How do I get the fonts to BUILD with the .exe ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use a backdrop object or active for text instead of a string. The font will stay no matter what font the user has.

You need to build an installer and install the fonts.

Or do as Nivram says if you just want to make an EXE of your game and not require the user to install the fonts just to play your game.

That's what I do for my projects.

But if he wants to do string manipulations, and not just logos and graphics, etc. then he's going to need to install the font.

Caution is in the wind if you import fonts for a commercial application. Be sure to check the legal implications before doing so.

I'd be nice with a feature to load external fonts into the string object.

    Is that even possible?

I thought to use fonts on a windows computer you have to install them to the users machine, use a standard system font or change them into a graphic.

It is possible. I know a few of Valve's games do it, and they're for PC. I've also seen loads of others do it.

Out of curosity? How do you know they are using "fonts" and not something like text blitter? I thought that was how a lot of big games handled this situation?
