Was anyone clever enough to find a way as to how do we make a character climbing animation "Stop" when we let go of the up or down arrow when climbing or descending? I have this problem plaguing my beautiful platform game. When I make my character go up the ladder, and stop he just keeps animating like crazy. A million thanks!

Maybe a detector a the bottom and top of the ladder and when the player overlaps one of the detectors change the animation?

That's what I call cleverness right? well I'll try that and see the miracle! very funny though. I hope I can solve it cause it's like a little riddle for me, since I'm kinda noobie.

I'm not sure if that technique is exactly what you want, if you hold up he will keep doing the animation until you let go. you should add
not overlapping latter >> animation stopped.
that way he will stop the animation even if up is held the whole time.
How about you just do this.
Animation of object is "Climbing"
+Speed is equal to "0"
--------> Stop animation
Animation of object is "Climbing"
+Speed is greater than "0"
--------> Start animation
The climbing animation problem has been fixed, thanks to DarkeSoft who kindly returned an example of mine with the correction.

There's a lot and I mean a lot year's worth of development ahead to finish this game. Even when it's completed I will still make my copy even more interesting and brilliant. This game is my "eternal" piece of beauty and inspiration! Parallax is coming to embelish even more all of the game's levels! I can't wait!
Remember I'm the only one actively working on this development. I do 3 jobs besides this: SInging at bars and restaurants, medical 3 language verbal Interpretation, PC Fixing and keeping my girlfriend happy on the phone, so I'm a real busy guy!
I wish I had more time to work on Cliffall, but what's left for me are the wee hours. That's ok! At least I have some time!
