How does one make an object spin following the mouse but staying in one spot (center)and shoot towards thespot that the player clicks?

Use the advanced direction object and always set the objects angle to the direction between two points (XMouse, YMouse, X_Player_Position_here, Y_Player_Position_here) and use float for HWA and integer for normal MMF2.

You're going to have to explain to him how to actually shoot the object though, because it's one thing to make an object look at the mouse, it's an entirely different and more complex thing to actually make it shoot an object at the mouse, and actually have it be accurate. (32 Direction wont cut it.)

Maybe the Bullet Widget in the Widgets section of the forum might be apply to your needs.

It has an example where a tank shoots in 360-degrees at the mouse cursor.

Using the Vector Movement is much easier.

    Re: Making an object spin.

You could add or subtract one to the angle of an object when keys are pressed to make the object spin. To shoot at the mouse, I would make a small active object and always set its x and y position to the mouse. Then set your shooting object to shoot at the small active object.
