    gravity game?

I got in way over my head trying to make a gravity game similar to "Golphysics" (google it, first link). I can't figure out how to make it so the ball goes in the direction of the arrows, but can still have enough force to go say, the opposite direction. (example, the arrow points down, the exit to the level is up.) Can I get some help please? (Yes I know this is my first big game but I'm in too far I only have a week to finish it unless someone would recomend an easier game I could do for my project)

Hmm, I've played that game before. I'm not exactly sure how they programmed it, but it seems to me that you'd need to make multiple movements, and when it hits an object such as an arrow up or down ect... then the movement changes to match it. I really have no specifics, because I don't think you could make that type of movement without some other program or massive amounts of mathimatical knowledge (which I don't currently have, and I'd be glad to give to you).

If you really think you can make a game like Golphysics, go ahead, I'm completely happy to help with any other problem you have.

I remember seeing an example file for a bouncing ball movement in the OLD forums. Just dig it out and switch around the X and Y values to make the "gravity" be in different spots.

On the note that I will never be able to finish this game on time, is there an idea for an easier game I could do? I just need something with more than one level.

Um, there is always the "simple" RPG (takes 3 frames)Main menu, Game, Ect... I have a good example, click on my signature and on the Edited RPG.mfa . (Don't just copy it, look at it to get a good idea)

There's no such thing as a simple RPG. Go with a bat and ball game.

Well depends on what you define as an RPG. A Gauntlet style game would be easy to do. Although that's debatable if it even qualifies as an RPG :P But it would be a step in the right direction for a real RPG.

    Re: gravity game?

Gauntlet is Hack&Slash which is essentially a part of the action part of an RPG.

It's like having a dialogue-only game. It's also not an RPG, but only a subset.

And having (just) 3 frames doesn't mean it's easy :P It just means there's probably no instructions-section, no options menu and no highscore list

I would go fo a simple space invaders game. It can't be much more easer than that.
