    Support for MIDI controllers found

    A while ago I was developing an extension for MIDI interfacing, however after a rough patch followed by a computer failure, I lost all of my programming & faded from MMF. However I've just got back into it for design of an idea i thought up, and needed MIDI

    After a bit of searching around I found that Mabry MIDI controls work via ActiveX.

    For all those looking for MIDI support, I recommened this ActiveX. You can find it at: http://home.brisnet.org.au/~mlevoi/mabrymidi.zip

    From my brief experience with this, here are a few tips:
    First, make sure you always set 'SetMessageEventEnable' to 0, as otherwise MMF will crash when receiving a MIDI message
    Select the device, then open, then start.
    When closing, stop, then close.

    And that is all. I hope this is of use to somebody out there

    Further note: To check for messages;
    -GetMessageCount(Object) > 0
    (object)DeleteMessage
    Other Code

    You have to delete messages when they are received otherwise they will stay in the buffer

    Thanks for that info. Having MIDI control is useful for various purposes.

    Are you considering doing the extension again someday? If so, would it be for public use or private?

    I have a project on for the next couple of months, but once I've completed that I'll be needing MIDI support in MMF, so I expect I will probably remake the extension then.

    I'll keep you all posted if/when this happens
