Localization, having all text in one file

I've set up a few .ini files; one is a setting file where the user only needs to choose their language once. And then there's a file per language (Russian, English, etc).

I would really like to just have one file required per language, so when I send for localize I only need to hand them one file.

The file would have all the text for the menu screens, dialogue, hud, credits etc.

I'm trying to use 'Text Blitter' as I want to have custom fonts for certain areas (might not be the best idea).

I'm having trouble choosing specific lines of text in the files to be diplayed:
"main menu" which might be on the first line
"start" may be on the second line
And then some long dialogue that's displayed over time

Is there a smart way of laying these out in the text/ini file. And what is the best way of Text Blitter (or is there a better option) allowing me to do this?

    Certainly appreciate any help

You could store your text in an array, each line of text in a separate element of the array. Then you'd only need to get the correct array element via Text Blitter or whatever text object you use.
String Parser might be useful to tokenize your lines of text.

Also keep in mind that Text Blitter does not support asian characters in the current version.

That is a top idea Olivier, thank you. I'll certainly look into that.
And yeah choosing another text object may simplify things as well, good point on the asian characters Bruto_Memo.
