A problem with intangible blocks in my game...

In the game I'm making, there are colored outline blocks that are supposed to be visible but totally intangible. When the corresponding switch is pressed, however, they are filled in and become solid, allowing the platform object to walk on them. This is the way I set it up:

    1. Collision between hero and switch: Change outline animation sequence to "Filled In"
    2. Collision between hero and outline + Outline animation "Filled In" is playing: Bounce hero

Most of it works perfectly. The only problem is that the outline blocks aren't intangible! The hero CAN pass through them, but only with extreme difficulty. Is there any way I can make the blocks completely intangible?

i wouldn't use animation state as determining whether or not the blocks are solid; use a flag instead:

    "Hero" collides with "Switch"
--> Outline - Set internal flag ON: 0 [or 'toggle flag' if you need that behavior]

Internal flag 0 of "Outline" is ON
--> Outline - Change animation sequence: Filled In

Internal flag 0 of "Outline" is OFF
--> Outline - Change animation sequence: Stopped [or whichever is the "empty" outline anim]

"Hero" collides [or overlaps] with "Outline"
+ Internal flag 0 of "Outline" is ON
--> Hero - Bounce, Stop, whatever

animations can be... not really "unreliable" but kind of annoying to get working with events, especially if they don't loop

It didn't work, but I found a different solution that does. Thanks anyway!
