    Converting to Hex

I'm trying to use MMF2 to create a save editor for Fallout 3 and am having some issues with the Binary Object. The saves are too large (often past 5MB) and make my editor crash when converting to Hex. Is there a better way to go about this? I need to be able to edit it in a hexadecimal format.

Hello, you probably don't know what you're doing....
The hex conversion is to convert invisible/null characters or whatever to readable chars. Each char is converted to its hex ascii value equivalent, as seen in a hex editor - BUT - the content is this hex stuff, it's not just displayed like that!
You don't need to convert your file. You can use the get/set byte functions, or whatever. If you need a hex value, like EA, you can use val("0xEA") in the expression editor.

    Re: Converting to Hex

The reason why I want everything in hex is so that I can easily pinpoint items in my inventory using string searching. There is the 3-byte ID for the item, the "|" character used as a separator, then the quantity as a long. I can use your method if there is a way to search for 64bit values, but I haven't seen any.

Usually I've just used MMF to design simple GUIs for command line programs, so I'm still new. Sorry if my questions seem stupid.
