Changing hot spot/action point at runtime?

Possible by any means or extension?

It would make finding a rotated coordinate on an object extremely easy, compared to using the "Convert to polar coordinate and back" method that will give slight 1-2 pixel errors in all the wrong directions from rounding issues

Well when you rotate an object, I thought the hotspot/action point rotates with it...

Of course, I could be wrong...

Well it *does* rotate with it. Thats the thing.

Imagine I want to have a player who stands on a spinning platform. He could be anywhere relative to the platform, like on the left or right or middle or whatever. But if I could place the action point at his exact position, then when the platform rotates around the hot spot, the action point would be 'where he moved' from the rotation effect, to find his new location.

You can use the load frame action. It allows you to load a frame from a picture and you can set the hotspot then.

    humm, thanks.
I don't know how efficient it could be though since I'd have to be loading from the hard disk 50 times per second. Maybe I could find a way to exploit that with an extension though, good tip

That's not going to work well for people who have slower IDE hard drives. It will probably show lag.
