quiz object: quiz has been completed bug?

I'm working on a math training program for school at the moment and decided to try using MMF2 for it. I'm using the quiz object.

Here's what I'm looking for. On each frame, a math poblem will be displayed. If the problem has been solved correctly, the user will go the next page. If the answer(s) given are incorrect, the user gets a message and tries again.

I'm at the first frame of the test and I'm already in trouble.... the user practises the three times table here, using the list matching.

In my events I do have the following:

    * quiz object: current answer is correct ---> goto next frame
    (works fine)
    * quiz object: the quiz has been completed + negated quiz object: the answer is correct ---> display wrong answer dialog
(This doesn't work at all. The wrong answer dialog keeps on poping up all the time even if the quiz has not been completed at all.)

I've tried several other things, but I can't get it to work as I do need it.

I only want the message to be displayed when all of the links have been done, but this routine starts looping right from the start, even when the user hasn't even started the quiz.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Re: quiz object: quiz has been completed bug?

    Hello ,
    I hope I understood your problem correctly --- here's what I think :
The quiz object actually checks whether the answer is right or wrong right at the beginning of the frame. So you should put"user clicks a button" ( put a button on your frame or use the Quiz object's built in button.) or a " on user press a key" condition in your event ; like this :

    condition :
    user presses button
    +
    answer is coorect
    action : display next question

The method above works if you add a button on the frame yourself.
This way , the loop won't occur.

2nd technique : Make sure you set up the QUIZ object correctly to include the built-in buttons. ( in the "message" tab of the QUIZ's setup )This way, the app will check for right or wrong answer only when user presses the built-in next button.

PERSONNALLY , I added a "check button" which is not featured in the QUIZ

    Hope it helps,
    Eric

    Hi Eric,

I'm at school at the moment reading through your answer. Thanks for helping me out. As soon as I get home I'll try your solutions and see which one fits best.

The quiz object actually checks whether the answer is right or wrong right at the beginning of the frame.
Thinking about that.... It should do that, since at the beginning of the frame no answer has been given yet. If you use right answer it seems to work fine and not check at the beginning of the frame, only when the answer has been given. But wrong answer seems to check right from the beginning even when no answer has been given. That's a bug for sure.

The negated answer does not work the way you want due to the fact negated conditions are programmed.
The only way for me to correct that, is to add in ther QUIZ object new conditions already negated (like "Answer is not correct".
I'll do that for the next version which should be out very soon.

I can't get the quiz object to work at all it actually crashes when I test run it to see if it works. Okay I put in a random question and set it all up. The correct answer and what not. I'm not doing anything yet. But I'm planning to.

1.) I set up a quick event to see if it'll show up.
2.) I'll say once the user clicks left mouse button.
    3.) Then launch the object.

All I get is there buttons the object is non functional and it crashes the test run of the frame
Question & Answer Object actually works better.

1.) But the issue I have with that is making the question appear where I want it.
2.) I click for the question to launch on the left side of the frame.
3.) But instead the object appears on the far right.

I think the Quiz object is better cause it can be manipulated more.
But I can't get it to work on the test frame. Like I said it completely
freezes the the frame and crashes back to Clickteam Fusion.

    Any thoughts?

Not sure if it's because I'm running Windows 7.
Maybe Clickteam can fix this on the next patch.

    Thanks for reading....

Hi, I have reported the bug in the bugbox ( see above )
    it's issue #1758

It hasn't been dealt with yet , maybe you can log to the bug box and confirm the bug ( best if you stick to the same 1758 issue so things don't pile up unnecessarily for them...)
GOOD NEWS THOUGH : if you load the quiz example ( see help ==> examples ==> quiz ) it works fine , for some reason , so you can build your app starting with that while we wait for the fix.
