    Change Environment Path ?

I am making a installation of an addon software.
Is it possible to change the environment keys in ICP?
I have found \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Environment key: PATH

    1. How do I preserve the current content in the new data?
    I.E. now path is C:\other_paths\
and I want it to be: C:\other_paths\;C:\path to xxxx.exe\

    2. In reality the paths are more complicated if doing it the right way:
The new path is found in an other key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVesrion\App Paths\xxxx.exe with the real path in a key (perhaps user have installed somewere else).
Do I have to do a own exe-file to do this at install?

(other_paths and path to xxxx.exe is different for my install)
I am happy for any walkaround if ICP not could do this.

ICP has no option for that, but there is a workaround, I'm going to make a post about it.

OK, here is the workaround : you have to install a special program, SetPath.exe, and run it from the installer, as well as from the uninstaller. We'll integrate this feature directly in the interface of ICP in a future version.

    Download the following installer.

This program installs SetPath.exe in the Tools sub-directory of your ICP directory.

Note: you need the registered version of Install Creator Pro, this installer asks you for your registration code.

    Usage :

    SetPath /P "pathname" /C /R /M /V

/P : allows you to specify the pathname to add/remove to/from the environment path.
/C : can be used instead of /P, just takes the current directory pathname of SetPath.exe
/R : remove the pathname from the PATH variable
/M : sends the message WM_SETTINGCHANGE to Windows - in theory you do not need this, as this message is automatically sent to Windows if the path has been modified. This option allows you to force this message to be sent even if the variable is not modified.
/U : changes the PATH variable only for the current user (by default it's changed for all the users)
/V : displays the command line (for debugging purpose)

For example if you want to add the sub-directory "Bin" of the install folder to the PATH variable, copy SetPath.exe to your source directory, select it in the list (in ICP), select one of the Run options in the View / Run tab and then enter the following text in the Command Line Options box :

    /P "#InstallDir#\Bin"

To remove this folder from the PATH from the uninstaller, add this into the "file to launch before uninstall" box in the Uninstaller tab :

    "#installdir#\...etc...\SetPath.exe" /P "#InstallDir#\Bin" /R

Note 1: replace ...etc... by the name of the sub-directory where is installed SetPath.exe, if any.
Note 2: you must specify #InstallDir#\...etc...\ before SetPath.exe otherwise the command line options are ignored.

Important : this program doesn't work on Windows 9x.
