Any Tutorial Around for simple AI?

Love the Tutorials you got here. Figured out how to do very smooth platforming movements and animations and stuff.

Something i am trying to figure out is AI.

Don't have to be the best AI in the world. But something simple.

When my character is in his Hitbox will it stop and attack and while i am not will it walk around on the floor just like my character.

This would work with pathmoving. But i would like it less pathing So it walks around totaly random.

This might be very hard but there might be something

Please, post in this thread if you know that it req a lot of work and i should wait with it.

I know it's not exactly what you're looking for but it might help.

The simplest thing you could do is a simple path movement, and then when the player is within a certain distance have the movement change to like bouncing ball or something and activate a group that makes it chase the player until it's out of range again... even that's hard.

Yeah in that thread I have my simple chasing AI using the PMO. There's also a link in that thread to an even better example made by Nifflas.

For random behaviors, be sure to generate a random number, assign it to an alt value, then when an alt value equals a certain number run the specific events.

When I have more time, I'd like to update my example with smarter AI and more options.

Wow, this is just great \o/ Never thought about the bouncing ball method

    ---------------------
While my character is not in the enemies "Sightofline" will he "bounch" random to left or right.
    ---------------------
    ---------------------
While my character is in the sightofline will the enemie go to the direction of the player.
    ---------------------
    ---------------------
If the enemie stops at some wall will he decide if he can go left or right. So if the wall is on the right and he stops there will he turn around and walk the other way.
    ---------------------
    ---------------------

This is just awesome Very simple and it works the way i want it.

    Thanks
