    A server problem.

Hey, I'm making this game called Blobomb and I'm working on online mode.

    http://www.create-games.com/project.asp?view=main&id=1585

So, I got it working with public servers but now I wanted to let people host their own servers, with the c++ program given in the .zip file.

So, I can connect to the chat lobby and all but when I create a game it's like fifty fifty if it wants to connect to the channel or not... am I doing something wrong?

I am doing it like in this article:
    http://www.create-games.com/article.asp?id=2104
    That I wrote..

    - create a game which players can see
    - then next frame
    - pick a character
    - next frame
    - connect to the localhost or whatever server, and connect to the channel (the name of the game)

It seems that it can connect but it cant connect to the channel, only sometimes :/?

Also, at the server program it says that when I join game room, the player connects and then disconnects? WTH?? I dont even have a condition with the event disconnect.

You should probably check for any denials

Why would a server that I hosted deny a connection? And it works perfectly with the chat :/

If someone has the same username then it is rejected.

Okay I ran some details and it comes up with this sometimes:

    server full

    or

    invalid channel

Wtf? Server full? I'm hosting on my own comp with 2 windows open?
Invalid channel? Uhm, no? I'm connected to it with the other application.

Try changing the alterable sting in a string object to debug it:
    Code:
    "Error: "+LastError$( "OINC" )+" | Error Detail: "+LastErrorDetail$( "OINC" )

    Re: A server problem.

    O...kaaaaaay I get these responds:

    UNKOWN NO ERROR
    NO ERROR

    SERVER FULL
    SERVEF FULL

    and then this interresting one:
YOu cannot HOST() and LISTEN() with the same UDP object
    SERVER FULL

How do I fix this one?

I tried connecting them both to my IP and one on localhost and one on IP and both on localhost but nothing works, well the chat works but not ingame? I get that error.

    Re: A server problem.

I'm not sure, but Villy's dedicated use Poinc which is pretty stable, and I think MarkClick's servers use an unreleased build of the OINC server that has a lot of bugs fixed.
Should wait for Jamie to respond here

    Re: A server problem.

Running a new build since a small week now.
Although there are still some bugs there resulting in sometimes an offline oinc server.
    But we are getting there
