How about: If you get bored, work on the graphics. If you get bored of that, do more programming. Don't put it off till the last minute. Procrastinators never amount to anything.
I would add more, but I'll do that tomorrow.

Never make your game jump to fullscreen. Always give the option, and by default, have it set to windowed mode.

Please don't build your game into an Installer. Super annoying. Zip it up if you have to, but I don't want to have to uninstall it afterwards.

Advice: Always find a way to do as little as possible but with the maximum quality and effort still achieved, best way to do this is to hire people but most of the time this costs money.

    Don't use .rar files!

xD I don't know about anyone else but I find it annoying not being able to open the .zip up quickly and dragging its contents onto my desktop or wherever. Plus, if your game really is so big that it requires that compression of .rar then you might as well make an install file.

If your app is really good, you might be able to pull it off in an installer. Oh yeah and if you haven't already, read all the tutorials. they are a big help in a lot of things. I would also be up to date on all the extensions, but that's for everything.

Most of all, don't lose sight of your goal. Sure it's fun to mess around with graphics for 50+ hours, but if you aren't getting anywhere, There is not a point.

Costs money and Fun! I prefer to do as much as possible in the shortest amount of time.

The ultimate way to speed up work: Get a pair of decent headphones. Shut off all light. Plug as many cords into your computer and open 7 or 8 notepads. Put some techno on. Change your system colors to black with green text. Pretend you are in a hacking movie and it's a race against time. I finish all my projects twice as fast this way.
