    AIM/ICQ chat

Anyone know if it is possible or how I could go about making a program with MMF that would send/receive a message to/from an AIM/ICQ user?
Just got me thinking, since Trillian does the same type of thing.

I could imagine MooSock would be able to communicate with these clients, but it wont be easy I think.

While it is indeed possible to do this with MooSock (I've connected to ICQ before... sorta), the process of making a program in MMF2 even remotely similar to Trillian would be quite an achievement. Still, I'm gonna try to see if I can connect to the AIM client. I am on summer vacation.

Connecting to XMPP (google talk, jabber, and others) is much easier (as long as the server doesn't insist on encryption) as it is an open spec.

True. I just found out that you need an encryption key and crap for AIM.

Screw it. I'm gonna try XMPP.
