    Gravity Plunging Issue

I didn't know how better to describe this, so I drew up a diagram of what's going on. :P

Basically what happens is that a character jumps off a platform. In this case, I am use the Platform Movement Object system with the player overlaying a box that the is what is being controlled by the player.

When the player in question leaps through the air, his animation obviously chagnes to jumping and falling. I've imbedded a third animation, called AerialSwipe, which allows the player to swing a blade in the air. However, when you are swinging the blade in the air, there is a very high probability that with gravity pulling the character down, they bypass the ground entirely and get stuck in the ground.

    Any thoughts?

Okay... I just checked the hotspots; but I don't exactly know what i'm looking for. Only one of the frames' hotspots is at a different size than his standing frames, but it's that way to line up the animation so it looks right. Also, in my example, I showed two platforms. If he jumps off the first one, falls a distance, and then swings his sword, he pierces the ground.

But if you're on the very first platform, and simple jump up and down and swing his sword, you never pierce the ground. It's as if the speed of the object is a key factor in whether or not you can get stuck in the ground.

You can use fastloops to get him out of the ground before the player notices, if you don't know how there is a good tutorial on fastloops.

Yep, Greyhill made one, excellent stuff, recommend this to everyone who starts with fastloops. Check it out on the new US clickteam site.
