    Movement + Swing Anim issue

    So close, and yet so far...

    Everything's been working smoothly so far up until this point, and now I've hit a roadblock I just can't seem to figure out.

    When the hero swings his sword around, generally it returns to the idle animation. However, for some reason now, the first swing freezes the animation in place if there character is moving. It reverts to the first frame of the " Stopped " animation but doesn't actually play it right. If I spam the attack button a few times and the jump button, he snaps out of it after awhile, but it's a pain in the rear for anyone else.

    I've attached an MFA file to this thread; if someone has time to take a look and see what might be the problem, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm almost finished his animation list entirely, which means I can move on to animating the guards and give him something to kill for a change!

    Thanks for your time; I'm gonna keep trying to fix it in the meantime, but I'm a little bogged here and there with RL so I figured I'd see if you pro's could solve it in a blink like you did my last big problem. :P

    I've had this problem before.

    Set the swing animation to loop, and then add in the event editor:

    *Animation Swing is playing
    +Frame of animation = //the last frame of that animation should go here
    -Change animation sequence to stop

    I setup what you suggested, but it has not solved the problem.

    Now, as long as I hold down the left or right arrow, he will continuously swing the first swing ( since you have to push the sword attack button twice to make him do the second swing ) until I release it. Once I release the button, he again freezes into his " I cannot move " state. The only way to release him is to time the attack button so that after the second sword swing is finished, it sets him free to move around again.

    UPDATE: Apparently, I have some " Pause Movement " and " Unpause " movement commands in my animations somewhere, but now with them gone, things seem to be working okay. I'll report again if the problem arises during further testing.
