Avira antivirus detecting cncs32.dll as a virus

The antivirus program Avira is detecting cncs32.dll as a virus.

This is an obvious false positive, as this never occurred until I updated the program yesterday.

Also I remember Avira (or some other antivirus program) doing the same thing in the past and Clickteam having a news post about it on their front page.

Well, anyway, I submitted a false positive report. It's still pending but hopefully they resolve this issue.

Also, I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post this in. I haven't upgraded to MMF 2 yet and I am still using the old version, so I am not sure if MMF 2 uses the same .dll file.

But for those with older versions of the program installed, please be careful if you have Avira installed as it thinks cncs32.dll is a virus.

Thanks for reporting it to Avira, anyway - hopefully it'll also clear it up if the latest DLL is coming up as a false positive as well.

You are right, cncs32.dll is an old DLL from TGF1/C&C, it's not used in TGF2/MMF2 or even MMF1.

MMF1.5 uses a "cncs232.dll" instead.

My apologies. I forgot which uses which. I guess it only effects those who have TGF installed.

But no matter. This has been resolved!

I got this in my email:
"The file 'cncs32.dll' has been determined to be 'FALSE POSITIVE'. In particular this means that this file is not malicious but a false alarm. Detection will be removed from our virus definition file (VDF) with one of the next updates."

So no worries now. It's all taken care of.
