    Why fps is low?

I create platform game on mmf2 developer with the resolution 800x600(size of game window) and with effects of a parallax. During testing the debugger often shows 42 fps, and sometimes even it is less 40fps (38-36). My PC is enough powerful and there are not so many objects at the game screen during the testing. In what the reason of such low productivity? What should i do to increase the fps in my game?!
P.S. Sorry for my poor english - english is not my native language!

    Welcome to the forum

Events can be slow down your game. Check your events if there is not too much looping.

There are many possible reasons. You ahve too many active objects on screen at one time, you are running too many loops at once, inefficient coding...

This is your first post so I am assuming you are new to MMF? If so I would be confident in saying your coding is a big issue.

Don't assuming by post count. Jaffob taught me that

Yeah check out your frame and events, just like bigredron said.

    Re: Why fps is low?

Thanks! I checked my frame and events, but I can't see problems there! I don't use fast loops at all! More than that, I marked "yes" in "inactivate if too far from window"-field in properties of many active objects, but fps didn't change!
What is normal fps for platform game with window size 800x600?

Is your Windows an English version?

FPS from time to time becomes 56 though I run MMF2 on the Japanese version of Windows (The frame rate is set to 60).

What build of MMF are you currently running? (In Help | About)

If you are not running the latest build it is recommended to update, just in case.

    Re: Why fps is low?

It has updated to Build 249 Beta #5.

My problem often happens on the Windows XP Home SP3.

EDIT: This problem was tested with three OS of 2000, XP, and 7.
As a result, FPS has not decreased on 2000 and 7.
Is this a problem that occurs only by XP?

    Re: Why fps is low?

My MMF2 developer is updated to 248 build! I think it is not necessary to use 249! I'am sure that problem is not about build of MMF2...I started development of my platform game on The Games Factory (the first version), then I have bought MMF2 dev. and continued creating my game on it! May it be the reason of my problem?!
