login page within a vitalized app. Possible ?

    Hello to you all ,

I have a mysql database for my students with a table that stores usernames ans passwords.

My students can do exercises online ( thanks to vitalize, of course ! thks clikcteam )

Now i want to save their exercise results , so in my ccn app ,I want the first frame to be a login page where students enter their login info , WHICH is checked against the mysql database. If user exists , then the exercise starts ; at the end of the exercise, the results will be saved for that user , in a "results" table in the database.

Throughout the test, user info would be saved in vitalize.ini and then deleted at the end of the test.

Is that feasible ? Or do I have to create a php login page BEFORE going into the vitalized page ?

    Thanks for your help,
    Eric.

I wouldn't use a Vitalize.ini, I would store the test info in the online database as the student goes along.

Your first frame has the student enter user/password.
If this checks out then you go to the next frame and start the exercises. As this moves along you upload the data to the database.

    Thanks Jeff for replying !

So it seems that it's possible to do the login check from within the vitalized, app then !! I have to figure out how , unless there are examples somewhere.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that DavidN's online scoreboard tutorial as well as Jeff's easy online score don't show an example of that i.e user login from within the .ccn.

As for vitalize.ini , I meant to use it to store the user login throughout the exercise and use it at the end to send the results to the correct "place" in the database.

    Thanks,
    Eric

You could use the Live Receiver to communicate with a PHP script that will handle the database stuff, or as Jamie would want you to you can use OINC and it's GetURL thing.

Actually I think Jamie would want him to use the Get Object.
