    unless i'm mistaken about how Box2D works with shapes, thats what the custom polygon shape is for i'm not sure how hard it would be to create something that broke your AO into polygon shapes so it could be used in the engine, but i'm sure it's possible

    It would be too hard to create a polygon based on a bitmap, I guess.

    Well, it's hard but not impossible... I have seen some scripts that can do it with decent accuracy and speed.

    Hi.

    What would be the best way to have a square as a player for a platform movement game?

    Having two separete shapes, one for the main body and one for the floor collision, results in awkwardness when on edges of other objects.

    Help would be appreciated thanks!

    Internal edge collisions can generally be solved by using edge chains for static geometry. For players I usually use the unicycle model, a rectangle with a circle body attached underneath with a revolute motor.

    Hm yes, however it doesn't address my problem. Usually in platformers the player's collision box is a box so that collision between the player and other obstancles is smooth. However with Box2d, I have to make 2 shapes for my player - one for the top body and one for the bottom feet. This results in that the player is able to stand on edges of obstancles, in the small (theoretically non-existing) gab between the two shapes. How would I solve this?

    Sorry for the confusion.
