    Card Game Help

    Hi

    I've been thinking of making a card game but I don't know what to do with the player's hand. I'd like for each card to line up in a row like this ([] represents a single card):
    [] [] [] []
    and when you remove a card from anywhere in the row,let's say the second from the left for example, the two cards right of it will then move to fill in the gap made by the missing card
    i.e from this [] <= [] []
    to this [] [] []

    Like a bunch of objects stacked on top of one another. If anyone knows how to do this sort of thing I'd appreciate the help. Thanks

    there are plenty of ways to do this. Probably the easiest way would be to have an invisible placeholder in each location where the cards will sit. Then whenever a card is changed or moved you loop through which cards the player has and place them from placeholder 1 through to 4 or whateevr your last one is.

    Thanks for the reply but I'm not sure I understand. Would you be able to elaborate on this a bit more.

    I think that you should not think of your [][] as true cards but as active pictures that only show your true cards. Your true cards (your hand) would be stacked in a magicdeque object (each line of the array would be a filename of the picture of the card).
    Each time the player plays a card, you juste have to destroy this card in the magicdeque object : it will be automatically updated and you just have to refresh all the active pictures according to the array.
    I'm sure it's not clear but I don't have much time. Sorry !
