    Tracking help

Hi, how would i go about creating an object that's movement is restricted to a track, and get it to follow the player as closely as it can within the limits of it's track.
I suppose an example might be a mounted gun attached to a rail track that follows the player, but what i have more in mind is to use it for controlled camera motion - if I can figure it out that is.

Any help, suggestions etc is greatly appreciated
    thanks

    Re: Tracking help

There would be an number of ways really. One of the most common ways is to place nodes at different positions along the track and only let the object move between those nodes. This is similar to what racing cars engines use.
