    first steps

    I have started with a spaceinviders game. Its pretty simple ship enemy base and shooting. I want the base to react as per the origanal game each time it gets hit it is slowly destroyed how can i do this?

    Welcome to MMF and the forums!

    I think that the easiest way to make a base that's destroyed piece by piece is to construct it out of duplicates of one "block" object, like this:

    Code:
      XXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXXX
    XX      XX
    Then, just set up the event "When enemy bullet collides with X -> Destroy X".

    ^^ Thats a good idea, and seems more realistic than my idea, but for some reason I'm remembering the bases just slowly wearing down, the whole thing getting thinner and thinner, like eroding. If you want the whole thing effected by a hit, you would have a few frames in the animation editor, and move across the animation for each hit.

    thanks i have the base with the animation stopped and being hit. I set up collision shot hits base change anim to being hit only one event when action loops and moved on to te next time the same event takes place however im not doing something because you only see the first two events and not the base being slowly destroyed. more help needed
