    Outrun example

    Made in response to this thread.

    This example shows a crude way to make a 3D raceing style game using only/lots of active objects.

    I suggest only running this example if your computer suppports Hardware Acceleration, however if it doesnt.. you could change the global value 'quality' to 0 before running, and it 'should' still work.

    ... left and right arrows to turn, 'w' to accelerate.

    Wow, just brilliant!

    Yep, it definitly can be done without an extension, much better than mode 7, but look at all that math involved, I don't fully understand it.

    Seele you need to turn this into an extension for the mathematical impaired like me, included with collisions, and a way to represent going up and down slopes, hell, you can even make games like afterburner with this, obviously the editor needs to be included...could that be done?

    Wow awesome. Reminds me of the game Stunts3D for dos like 15 years ago!

    Wow this is great. You are really great with 3d maths/engines SEELE.

    By the way i noticed you can drive through the tunnel and trees.

    Thanks for the positive feedback bigredron & Atom.

    *cel it sure could be done, but at the moment I'm to tied up with my FULL 3D engine which will make this look (well, as crummy as it does :wink: )

    I don't want to promise to much to early, but at this point the engine will include:

    .Multiple formats for 3D animation
    .Multiple types of native 3D collision detention
    .(in my opinion, most importantly) extremely strong founding resource handling

    EXCELLENT Example but I coudn't get the level editor to work for me, also why do the tunnels have eyes?

    Holy Moley!
    That's really incredible...
    I think you should get together with Jason Darby and put out a book based around the graphical theory that went into that example that would result in the creation of a simple game like that. I'd be really interested in understand the consepts here.
