Depends on what you are trying to do. Saving directly to a gif is not possible, I don't think, although there are ways to do it crudely.

    Re: Animated Gifs

What I want to do, is have an animation in the form of an active, then an active picture on top of that. There will be 8 frames, and then I want those 8 frames to save as what it looks like when you put the active picture on top of the active.

    Is that possible?

Maybe using the screen capture object, but it wouldn't be a gif. I would need to see exactly what you are trying/wanting to do.

This is my source file so far: http://www.box.net/shared/uoc9qattsu

It only has 1 event, so it is really simple.

    Re: Animated Gifs

It would be nice to be able to save out an animated Gif at runtime.

    Re: Animated Gifs

You may be able to save each frame of your animation along with the chosen picture, load it into Sphax's AVI object and output it as an avi, then re-load it as a video, but directly saving as a gif without the use of outside software is probably not possible. If it is, it would be very difficult.

    Re: Animated Gifs

I think one part of gif is that there are some licensing issues to the gif format, or at least that was the case way back when. So thats why you probably don't see that feature supported. It's similar to the mp3 format. It's a public format, but to include it with an app you have to license the mp3 format.
