The server is programmed with which programming language?
In fusion 2.5 i would do it this way....
"List object" have no channels listed -------> restart Application, set timer to 30 min
"Timer = 0"

Massive thanks to Phi.
Without your server I don' think I'd have got this far with my project. Really appreciate.![]()
No problem Tinez! I've been thinking of setting up a donate page. The servers aren't expensive to run, but I could get a cloud server up with enough funds. You'd get better bandwidth than my home connection.
On a related note, Server 1 went down for a couple hours today. The auto-reboot didn't kick in because Server 2 was also down, and Server 1 isn't connection tested / potentially auto-rebooted until Server 2's connection test closes (and it doesn't if Server 2 is down).
I've changed how the server machine runs the tests so one won't affect the other. Max downtime is now 10 minutes for Server 1, for Server 2 it's dependent on me being at my desk - I have to manually reboot Server 2.
Another year has gone by and I must thank you again, Phi, as you've still got the server going and it's very convenient for me to run tests on my project.
Do you have any idea of usage? ie, how many users bounce off your server setup and their frequencies?
Cheers!
As I write this, server 1 has 24 clients in 8 channels, sending 641 messages, 8.9kb/s, forwarding 761 messages at 16kb/s...
Those are approximate, but usually what I get. I have upload cap on server 1, so users can't spam and block out everyone else, but it's generally around that level.
I can see their IPs, but I don't track the content of their messages, their games, channel names, etc. Only user connect + disconnect events, count of clients/channels overall, message count/size overall. I don't track returning visitors, or the like, or what games they're playing, or messages they send.
(Server 2 is a slow Raspberry Pi, so it kinda caps itself. Both now have auto-restarters running every 10 minutes, checking if they're down.)
Oh, cool. Thanks for the info.
I've never had more than 6 players in game before, so I'll be looking into stress testing from my own host at some point.
Do you make use of it yourself or do you just leave it running for those few dozen people who do?
Thanks again!![]()
I don't use it all that often, but yeah, I do use it myself. Others use it far more than I do, though, but unless I'm rebooting for updates it's pretty much on 24/7.
So yeah, it's mostly for others, free service like my ext list and the 5 free exts I've made.
