Got quite a complex question here... For me anyway, lol.
Ok, so I've spent most of last night recoding an image loading system.
Basically, at the start of the frame, the list object adds lines automatically based on how many files are in the "image" folder. This works fine, no problem. There's even a small thumbnail view to accompany it.
Now, the sucker - in my previous engine I was storing the actives within the application itself - which started to consume quite a bit of memory. So I made all the files external with the idea of loading them in as images, then converting them to actives when the user clicked the editors'insert' button...
Now I'm loading these in as active pictures... But I can no longer convert them to actives with "create active object" because the files aren't stored as actives within the application itself?
Hope that made sense and if anyone has a clue what I'm on about can can help I'd be extremely grafeful
