    Alpha Transparency question

Hi, I was just wondering how Alpha Transparency effects MMF 2 - if i were to create a platform game where a number of my backdrops/Tiles contained alpha transparency would the game run slower as a result of this?

    Re: Alpha Transparency question

As long as the backdrops are on the bottom frame there will be no slow down.

    Re: Alpha Transparency question

So then if i wanted to have scrolling in some levels it could effect the speed in those levels?, another thing i was wondering is what exactly is the MMF HWA & Does it handle alpha transparency better?

    Re: Alpha Transparency question

MMF2 HWA is a special version of MMF2 that has an additional Direct3D graphic mode, this mode uses the 3D features of graphic cards to display games faster. Yes it handles alpha transparency faster than the software modes. Look at the MMF2 HWA forum for more info (there are a few limitations in D3D mode - no XOR/AND/OR effects, some options like "Keep display of previous frame" don't work, no windows controls in full screen mode, etc).
