    [Reques] Screen Audio

    Hi,
Please could someone make an extension which allows someone to record screen audio and then save it as a "wav" file?

    Thank you in advance,
    Game_Master

The title was meant to be "[Request] Screen Audio".

By screen audio, I mean the audio that comes out of the speakers.

    Re: [Reques] Screen Audio

you can use the MCI object for this

here is a link to a discussion I started a while back which has an example file:

I have made a number of recording apps, the key is to select the output you want to record from the windows volume mixer (sndvol)

    Re: [Reques] Screen Audio

I posted an example in the file archive since I discovered the link above is not fully functional

    http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=170972&#Post170 972

    it is called MCIrecorder example

I just tested and used it on a Vista box and the code is simple so I believe it should work on any system...

    Re: [Reques] Screen Audio

I have been playing around with this some more and discovered more about how Vista "deals" with audio and recording sources and stuff like that. I am going to put some more info in the file archive thread I started to try to keep the information together for future use...

the short info is: sndvol.exe is the windows volume mixer

mmsys.cpl is the windows sound control and does the selection control stuff

I found my recordings quite "hissy" but I added an app called "power mixer" from actual solutions and got straightforward control of the recording selector and "cleaned up" the hiss...

there are likely other ways to do this, but this is what I am doing currently
