Decoding Registration Keys + Random Question

Firstly, is it possible to decode the keys you send to people and extract the username and email info from them, Since i need this for my database, and manually inputting each individual key takes too long, i want to automate it.

Secondly, is there any way to check if a registration key is available in X location whether that be in a specific folder or a registry string key.

Also can installation download updated files from a ftp or http instead of having embedded files.

    1. You can extract various info from the registration code with macros. For example if you want to store the user name in a registry key, select the Install Info tab, click the Add button in the Registry Keys group, enter the details of the key and in the value box enter #UserName#. Click the '>' button to see the other macros you can use.

    2. There is no way to check if a registration key exists in the current version of ICP, sorry. This feature will be in ICP3 (no precise release date yet).

    3. The installer can download files via the "Download" option in the Misc tab and the Download folders in the Options tab, however this cannot be used for files that you plan to update on the server because the info about the file is still stored in the EXE of the installer and the installer will report an error if the file has been modified on the server... This should be improved in ICP3 too (not sure though, this feature hasn't been implemented yet).

    thnxs for answering

but you misunderstood the first question or i worded it badly

the key i was referring to is the registration key you give out, by generating it in the user window of install creator, with the options of generating a code with the user info and email embedded into the code, is there anyway to find out what the user info and email is if you are just given a code and you know the Product Code you set?

No, there is no other way, the only way is to use macros in the installer.
