    How to drop and pick up different weapons?

    Anyone know how to drop and pick up different weapons? Say if my character was holding a pistol, and he came across a machine gun, he would throw the pistol down on the ground and pick up the machine gun. Any help???

    you should ask this in the tech forum. This is the forum where your making your game public knowledge, and you have a good grasp on the development.

    Maybe use Global Values. You are holding a knife so your Global Value A=1. You find a gun. Set Global Value B to 1 which makes your character pick up the gun. Set global Value A to 0, which makes your character drop the knife.

    also you can use an active objects alterable values to store the guns info, you can make actives global to a applications frames, so you could have the weapons data carried over into different levels of the game.

    You can also use the active objects behaviors to store code related to the weapons.

    Picking up weapons on the ground is a really neat game play concept, it's neat to come across spawned weapons on a game level.
