Creating a subscreen

Hiya,

I'd like to make a game where you can access a subscreen during the game to change the item you're holding (like in the Zelda games, for example).

However I can't think of an easy way to do this. Has anyone done it? Can you help me with pointers? Thanks!

Use a sub-application and check share values and modal. I have an example of a pause screen using the sub-application on my website. It brings up a battle screen, but you can easily change it to an inventory.
