    Zip Object - Precentage Extracted/Unzipped?

Hello everyone, I did see a thread about how to do this once but I could not find it by browsing the forums and using the search bar, so I am going to ask my question here.

With the zip object, how do you retrieve a "percentage complete" value when unzipping. Thanks! I did have a temporary solution setup, but it would only change when the unzip was finished-it would just jump to 100% suddenly.

    Thanks!

Does get Unzip Progress( "Zip Object" ) not work as you want it to?

Well... how do you actually retrieve a percentage from it? For me it displays the amount of files in the archive minus 1. If I convert this into a percentage using the expression that is changed every milisecond:
(get Unzip Progress( "Zip Object" )/get Number Of Files( "Zip Object" )*100)-1

What it will do is it won't actually change the percentage actively as the archive unzips, it will remain at 0 until the whole archive is unzipped when it will suddenly jump to 100. This happens even if you are extracting, say a 2GB archive.

Then I suggest looping through all the files and adding thier uncompressed size to a counter, then using a formula to show how much stuff has been unzipped based on the total unzipped size (from the loop on the counter) and the total size of the files currently extracted.

I'm not sure, is this what you meant:

(With the condition being every millisecond.)
    Set Progress Bar To:
get Zip Size( "Zip Object" )/get Uncompressed Size At( "Zip Object", get Unzip Progress( "Zip Object" ))*100

It works, but it still remains at 0%, until the archive is fully unzipped, when it jumps to 100%.

I'm not sure if that expression is correct. I haven't actually used this object that much. By the way, if you were using get unzip position, how would you use that to get the percentage?

Re: Zip Object - Precentage Extracted/Unzipped?

I haven't used Zip object myself but your calculation looks like it might be having a problem because you need a float.
The two values you are dividing are probably integers so MMF will make the result the same (cutting off the all important decimals).
So although the division part of the calculation might become 0.5, the decimals are lost resulting in 0%.

try adding '+0.0' to one side of the division (creating a float so mmf will keeps the float result)
    So try:
(get Zip Size( "Zip Object" )+0.0)/get Uncompressed Size At( "Zip Object", get Unzip Progress( "Zip Object" ))*100
