Re: question regarding texturing an opengl window

    thanks!

also I don't think "set group material" is working. I tried setting it to a different loaded texture, but it couldn't load it for some reason. "On texture handle request" wasn't called.
edit: although it did work for a texture that was already applied to the model...

And a feature to turn certain groups visible/invisible would be awesome

"Set group material" works fine for me, are you sure you entered correct group and material names? They are case sensitive. If you just wish to change the texture of a material use the "Material->Texture handle..." action, "On texture handle request" is only called when loading a model for each material that has a texture.

Yeah I am sure I entered the right names. It worked fine when I changed it to a texture already used by the model, but if I change it to another one that isn't, it doesn't seem to work.

I have made an example that shows my problem:

Ah, you are trying to use a texture name as the material name. Use the "Material->Texture handle..." action instead, with material name "Head" and the texture handle of the desired texture.

Re: question regarding texturing an opengl window

as a workaround to not having a force group visibility/invisible I tried adding a material with a transparent texture and changing a group's texture to that.

Although it resulted in weirdness. Some textures on the other side of the invisible group weren't rendered, and some were O_o

I guess I'll just wait for the feature

Re: question regarding texturing an opengl window

I found a free app on sourceforge that can convert models to MS3D format called Misfit Model 3D -

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/misfitmodel3d

It seems to work ok so it might be helpful to someone.
