A few questions from a new MMF user.

The most important question I have is how can I reduce the file size of games I make to as small as possible so one day I could possibly post them online? I just created a platform game that is 10 frames, which I didn't think was that big, and when I built it as an .exe file it became 45 MB! Most people who download games don't want to download files that large. Right now I am not sure exactly how it got that big, and cannot think of any examples do give you potential advice givers to help. Any tips advising how I can reduce the size of my game would help tremendously, especially regarding graphics, sounds, and events. (I made the graphics in my example game with MMF's picture editor and only used the colors in color selector)

The second question is if there is a way to find out how big your game is, or how big individual objects are, in terms of file size? (i.e. I click on an active object and find out that it is "200 kb") I think if I could find out how big specific files are in my applications I could find out exactly what is making my previous game so large. (Even thought it is only a measly 10 frames large, which would equate to 5 MB per frame.)

Any advice would be great, and I apologize for not being able to give more specific examples of my problem.

Well, for starters, you can reduce the file size a lot by going into each frame's prioperties and your application's properties and optimizing it by changeing some of the things like the sound and images filters from automatic to only include the ones you use. Also set the compression level to maximum, and to compress sounds. If you use lots of sounds in your game, consider compressing them with OGG if you haven't already, because it's a great compression format for sounds with only a little bit of lossyness, and you can usually choose the quality to compression ratio with most converters.

The sound for a game's usually the biggest problem - do you use a lot of uncompressed WAV sounds, for example? 45MB really is a lot for a 10-frame platform game.
